International Nonproprietary Name - chloramphenicol, metronidazole, nystatine, hydrocortisone Clinical-pharmacological group: Obstetrics, Gynecology → Systemic agents for trichomoniasis → Nitroimidazole derivatives Obstetrics, Gynecology → Antiprotozoal, antimicrobial and antifungal agents for topical use Composition: Chloramphenicol - 200 mg Metronidazole - 500 mg Nystatin - 660,000 IU Hydrocortisone acetate - 51 mg Indications: - Treatment of vaginitis and cervicitis caused by aerobic and anaerobic bacteria (including Clostridium spp) - Treatment of vaginitis and cervicitis caused by vaginal trichomoniasis (Trichomonas vaginalis) - Treatment of vaginitis and cervicitis caused by Mycoplasma spp and Chlamydia spp - Treatment of fungal vaginitis - Treatment of mixed infections, including vaginitis caused by E.coli, Trichomonas vaginalis, Candida spp, Mycoplasma spp, and Chlamydia spp - Prevention of vaginitis and cervicitis in women undergoing immunosuppressive therapy, chemotherapy, or corticosteroid therapy, and in women undergoing radiation therapy - Prevention of vaginitis and cervicitis in patients undergoing diagnostic or surgical procedures in the genital area (hysterosalpingography, endometrial biopsy, etc.) - For the treatment of pathogenic flora: before taking a smear for Babes Papanicolau cytology test (Pap smear), to determine microscopic flora and improve the interpretation of the cytology test Cervugid vaginal suppositories are intended for use by adult women. If necessary, it can also be prescribed to adolescents. Contraindications: - If you are hypersensitive to any of the active ingredients or excipients - If you have severe liver or kidney failure - If you suffer from severe hematological disorders - If you are pregnant or breastfeeding Dosage and administration: Cervugid vaginal suppositories are for vaginal use; the vaginal suppository is inserted deep into the vagina, and it should rotate freely within the vagina. The usual dose of one Cervugid vaginal suppository is once a day, before bedtime. Duration - for 12 days. In case of ulcerative cervicitis, the treatment should be repeated 1-2 times until healed, with a 7-day break between each course of treatment. In case of cervicitis and vaginitis accompanied by severe inflammation caused by infection (pelvic congestion, retro-adnexitis, adnexitis, pelvioperitonitis), the doctor may recommend the use of Cervugid along with systemic antibiotics. The duration of treatment with Cervugid will be determined by your doctor and will depend on periodic assessment of your condition. Possible side effects: Especially with prolonged use and after the first dose, erythema and local burning may occur. If any side effect becomes serious or if you notice any side effect not described in this instruction, inform your doctor or pharmacist.
