What is it?
Name - Valerian Herbal Raw Material Composition: Valerian roots and rhizomes contain essential oils (0.5-1%), tannins, free valerianic acid, alkaloids. Pharmacotherapeutic group: Sedative. Pharmacological properties: The plant reduces CNS excitability and exhibits antispasmodic action. Indications: Used for increased nervous excitability, insomnia, cardiovascular system neurosis, and gastrointestinal tract spasms. Valerian is widely used for mild forms of neurasthenia and psychasthenia, cardiovascular neuroses, early stages of angina pectoris, hypertensive diseases, as well as certain liver and biliary tract diseases, and stomach and intestinal spasms. Side effects: The preparation is well-tolerated, but overdose can cause drowsiness and a feeling of oppression. Side effects disappear after discontinuation of the plant.
