Other Medicines and Cyclogest Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken, or might take any other medicines. Of particular importance in this regard are the use of carbamazepine (e.g., for seizure prophylaxis, treatment of certain types of pain or mood disorders), rifampicin (for treating infections) or phenytoin (e.g., for seizure prophylaxis or treatment of certain types of pain), as these agents may reduce the effect of progesterone. Since Cyclogest is administered vaginally, it is not recommended to use other vaginal preparations during the same period, as it is not known whether this affects the treatment. Pregnancy and Breastfeeding Cyclogest may be used in the first trimester of pregnancy in women who require additional progesterone during therapy with assisted reproductive technology (ART) programs.
