Use: Demoxi is a particle-free, clear, greenish-yellow solution. Demoxi contains 5.45 mg of moxifloxacin hydrochloride as the active substance, equivalent to 5 mg of moxifloxacin. It does not contain preservatives. Pharmacotherapeutic group: Ophthalmologicals, anti-infectives. Demoxi is presented in a package consisting of 1 dropper, an opaque, white, low-density polyethylene bottle containing 5 ml of eye drops and a screw-on, orange-colored cap. Demoxi contains moxifloxacin, an antibiotic from the fluoroquinolone class, and is used to treat eye infections. Demoxi is used for the local treatment of bacterial infections caused by moxifloxacin-susceptible strains in the anterior part of the eye. Dosage and administration: Demoxi should only be used for instillation into the eyes. Do not use the product in any other way. 1 drop should be instilled into the affected eye(s) 3 times a day (morning, noon, evening). Your doctor may advise you to use Demoxi in both eyes. You should continue to use it for the duration prescribed by your doctor. The infection usually heals after 5 days. Treatment should be continued for an additional 2-3 days. Method of use: • To keep the dropper tip and the solution clean, be careful to avoid touching the dropper tip of the bottle to the eyelids, the area around the eyes, or other surfaces. Keep the bottle cap tightly closed when not in use. • Take Demoxi eye drops and a mirror. • Wash your hands. • Open the bottle cap. • Remove the ring located under the cap. • Open the bottle cap, being careful not to touch the dropper tip. Hold the bottle between your thumb and index finger, with the tip pointing downwards. • Tilt your head back. Pull down your lower eyelid with a clean finger to create a pocket between your eye and eyelid. (See Figure 5) The drop should fall into this area. • Bring the tip of the bottle close to your eye. Use a mirror if it helps you. • Do not touch the tip of the bottle to your eye or the surrounding eyelid or other areas. This can affect the dropper. • Gently squeeze the bottle to release one drop of Demoxi. • If you intend to use it in both eyes, follow the same steps to instill it in the second eye. • To avoid absorption of the drops through the nasal mucosa, especially in newborns or infants, close the tear ducts with your fingers for 2-3 minutes after instilling the drops (See Figure 7). • Close the bottle cap tightly after use. Storage conditions: Store Demoxi in its original packaging and out of reach of children. It should be stored at room temperature, not exceeding 25C.
