What is it?
Composition: The active substance is montelukast. Each chewable tablet contains 5mg of montelukast (as montelukast sodium); other excipients are: mannitol, microcrystalline cellulose, hydroxypropylcellulose, red iron oxide, croscarmellose sodium, cherry flavor (contains: flavorings, gum arabic, maltodextrin, propylene glycol), aspartame, magnesium stearate. Indication: Denk-Air Junior 5mg is a preparation that prevents the binding of certain inflammatory mediators (leukotrienes). Leukotrienes cause narrowing and swelling of the airways. By blocking leukotrienes, Denk-Air Junior 5mg alleviates asthma symptoms and helps control asthma. Denk-Air Junior 5mg is prescribed for children to prevent daytime and nighttime asthma symptoms. Denk-Air Junior 5mg is prescribed for patients whose asthma symptoms are not adequately controlled by other medications and who require additional treatment; Denk-Air Junior 5mg is also used in children aged 6 to 14 years as an alternative to inhaled corticosteroids, in the following cases: if there is no current, acute asthma attack requiring treatment with corticosteroid tablets; if the child cannot inhale corticosteroids; Denk-Air Junior 5mg helps prevent exercise-induced airway narrowing. The treating physician will determine the dosage regimen for Denk-Air Junior 5mg based on the child's asthma symptoms and severity. Taking Denk-Air Junior 5mg with food and drink: Denk-Air Junior 5mg chewable tablets should not be taken with food. The chewable tablet should be taken 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal. Contraindication: The patient is allergic to montelukast or any of the ingredients in this preparation. Dosage and administration: The patient-child should take 1 tablet of Denk-Air Junior 5mg once daily as prescribed by the doctor; treatment should be continued even in the absence of symptoms; treatment should not be discontinued even in the presence of an acute asthma attack. Denk-Air Junior 5mg should always be taken according to the doctor's prescription. If the patient is unsure about anything, they should consult their doctor or pharmacist; for oral use. Children aged 6 to 14 years: one 5mg chewable tablet daily, taken in the evening. Denk-Air Junior 5mg chewable tablets should not be taken with food. The chewable tablet should be taken 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal. If the patient-child is being treated with Denk-Air Junior 5mg, they should ensure they are not taking any other medication containing the same active substance, montelukast.
