What is it?
Dexapain Composition Each ampoule contains: Active substance - dexketoprofen trometamol equivalent to 50 mg dexketoprofen. Excipients: ethanol 96%, sodium chloride, sodium hydroxide (for pH adjustment), water for injection. Indications Short-term symptomatic treatment of moderate to severe acute pain when oral administration is not possible, for example, in postoperative pain, renal colic, and back pain. Dosage and Administration Dosage Adults: The recommended dose is 50 mg every 8-12 hours. If necessary, the drug can be readministered after an interval of 6 hours. The total daily dose should not exceed 150 mg. Dexketoprofen is intended for short-term use and treatment should be limited to the acute symptomatic period (no more than 2 days). Patients should switch to oral analgesics as soon as possible. Method of administration: Dexapain can be administered intramuscularly or intravenously: Intramuscular administration: The contents of one ampoule of Dexapain (2 ml) should be injected slowly and deeply into a muscle. Intravenous administration: - Intravenous infusion: The prepared diluted solution should be administered as a slow intravenous infusion over 10-30 minutes. The solution should always be protected from natural daylight. - Intravenous bolus administration: If necessary, the contents of one ampoule of Dexapain (2 ml) can be administered as a slow intravenous bolus over at least 15 seconds. Instructions for use of the drug: When Dexapain is administered intramuscularly or intravenously as a bolus, the solution should be administered immediately after withdrawal from the ampoule! For intravenous infusion, the solution should be diluted under aseptic conditions and protected from natural daylight. Storage conditions Store in a dry, light-protected place at a temperature not exceeding 25 C, in the original packaging. Keep out of reach of children!
