What is it?

What is Dermicet and what is it used for? Dermicet is a combination of triamcinolone acetonide, a medium-potency dermocorticoid, and salicylic acid, a keratolytic agent. Active ingredients: Triamcinolone acetonide and salicylic acid. Excipients: Ethanol, sodium hydroxide/hydrochloric acid, purified water. Dermicet is used for certain skin conditions characterized mainly by skin thickening. It is indicated in the following cases: - Eczema and corticosteroid-sensitive skin diseases characterized by hyperkeratosis and/or scaling. - Psoriasis, excluding large psoriatic plaques. - Lichenification of the skin. - Neurodermatitis. - Lichen planus. - Keratoderma palmoplantaris (palmoplantar hyperkeratosis). Do not use Dermicet: If you are allergic to salicylates (aspirin, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) or any of the excipients: - Ulcers - Acne - Rosacea - Skin infections of viral etiology (chickenpox, herpes, herpes zoster), bacterial (impetigo), fungal infections (accompanied by microscopic examination) or parasitic infections. - Do not apply to the face unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor. - Application to the eyelids - Application to mucous membranes If in doubt, do not hesitate to consult your doctor or pharmacist. Warnings and precautions: This medicine should be used as prescribed by your doctor: - Do not use on the face unless prescribed by your doctor. - Avoid applying the product over large areas or under occlusion, as partial absorption of the active substances into the bloodstream is possible. - Avoid prolonged use of the product on the face and in skin folds. - Inform your doctor in case of any irritation or infection. - Do not take oral medications containing aspirin or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs during treatment. - Do not use the product with other topical agents containing salicylate derivatives. - In case of contact with eyes, rinse with plenty of water. Treatment over large areas or under occlusion, due to the high risk of corticosteroids entering the bloodstream, may lead to systemic effects similar to oral or parenteral corticosteroid therapy, as well as salicylate intoxication. If in doubt, be sure to consult your doctor or pharmacist. Other medicines and Dermicet: To avoid possible interactions with other medicines, inform your doctor or pharmacist about any other concomitant treatment. Pregnancy, breastfeeding and fertility: - If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult your doctor. - In general, during pregnancy and breastfeeding, it is recommended to consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking any medication. Driving and operating machinery: No special precautions are required. Dosage: - The dose is 1 to 2 applications per day. - Do not exceed the daily amount of use. - Use an average of 1-2 ml of solution for cutaneous use. - Always follow your doctor's instructions. Method and route of administration: - For cutaneous use. - Apply the cutaneous solution to the affected areas. - Wash your hands after use. Duration of treatment: - Treatment should be discontinued gradually by reducing the frequency of application and/or using a less potent corticosteroid or reducing the dose. - The duration of treatment should not exceed 4 weeks. - Strictly follow your doctor's prescription and do not prolong the treatment. If you have used more Dermicet than you should: Unpleasant symptoms may occur. In this case, stop taking it and consult your doctor. If you forget to use Dermicet: Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose. Take the next dose as soon as possible. If you stop using Dermicet: - This will reduce the effectiveness of the treatment. - Treatment should be discontinued gradually. Consult your doctor for advice on how to stop using Dermicet. - If you have any further questions on the use of this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist. Possible side effects: Dermicet can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them: - Redness, burning sensation after application - Due to the presence of corticosteroid: - With prolonged use, there is a risk of skin thinning and relaxation, dilation of small blood vessels, stretch marks, and acne. - Cases have been observed where excessive hair growth on the body, skin pigmentation disorders, and secondary infections have occurred, especially with occlusive treatment or application in skin folds. - In case of any doubt, be sure to consult your doctor or pharmacist. How to store Dermicet: - Keep this medicine out of the reach of children. - Store this medicine below 25°C. - Do not use this medicine after the expiry date. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month. - The container cap should be carefully cleaned and tightly closed. After opening, the shelf life is 6 months. - Do not dispose of medicines in wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines you no longer use.
