What is it?
Name - DESAROL ORAL SOLUTION 200ML #1 DESAROL belongs to the group of appetite stimulant medications. This medication is indicated for symptomatic treatment in adults and children over 2 years of age for loss of appetite. Contraindications Do not take DESAROL - if you are allergic to cyproheptadine, arginine aspartate, carnitine or any of the other ingredients of this medicine; - during an asthmatic crisis; - in children under 2 years of age; - if you are pregnant or breastfeeding; - if you have glaucoma (increased intraocular pressure), enlarged prostate, problems with gallbladder or stomach emptying, or difficulty urinating; - if you are taking a "monoamine oxidase inhibitor" (MAOI) for depression or Parkinson's disease; - if you have porphyria (a rare, usually hereditary disease in which large amounts of porphyrin are excreted in the urine and feces); - if you have severe kidney or liver disease; - if you suffer from a stomach ulcer (peptic ulcer). Warnings and Precautions Consult your doctor or pharmacist before starting to take DESAROL. Do not take this medicine continuously for more than 8 weeks. If symptoms worsen or persist after 4 weeks, stop taking the medicine and consult your doctor. Children This medicine is contraindicated in children under 2 years of age. Special attention should be paid to determining the dose of DESAROL in children over 2 years of age, as this population is highly sensitive to antihistamine medications. Overdosing on some antihistamine medications in children can cause nervous system disorders, respiratory and cardiac arrest, and even fatal outcomes. Dosage and Administration Follow your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions exactly regarding the administration of the medicine. If in doubt, consult your doctor or pharmacist again. This medical product is taken orally. Recommended dosage is: Adults and adolescents over 14 years of age: 10ml three times a day (equivalent to a total daily dose of 5.19mg of cyproheptadine). Do not exceed 16mg of cyproheptadine per day. Use in children Children aged 2-4 years: 5ml three times a day (equivalent to a total daily dose of 2.6mg of cyproheptadine). Do not exceed a daily dose of 12mg of cyproheptadine. Children aged 4-6 years: 10ml twice a day (equivalent to a total daily dose of 3.46mg of cyproheptadine). Do not exceed a dose of 12mg of cyproheptadine per day. Children aged 7-14 years: 10ml three times a day (equivalent to a total daily dose of 5.19mg of cyproheptadine). Do not exceed 16mg of cyproheptadine per day. Storage Keep out of reach of children. No special storage conditions are required.
