What is it?
Active substance: Estradiol hemihydrate Clinical-pharmacological group: Estrogen. Composition and dosage form: Gel for external use: 28 sachets per pack. 1 sachet Estradiol hemihydrate .................. 0.5 mg 1 sachet Estradiol hemihydrate ............... 1 mg. Indications: Hormone replacement therapy for symptoms of estrogen deficiency; Treatment of climacteric syndrome associated with natural or artificial menopause (caused by surgical intervention). Dosage and administration: Divigel - gel for transdermal use, used for long-term cyclic therapy. The usual starting dose is 1.0 mg of estradiol per day (corresponding to 1.0 g of gel). However, the choice of the starting dose depends on the symptoms identified, and the dose can be adjusted individually from 0.5 g to 1.5 g per day after 2-3 cycles, according to the clinical picture. This corresponds to 0.5 mg to 1.5 mg of estradiol per day. It is recommended that patients with an "intact" uterus treated with Divigel be prescribed a gestagen (e.g., medroxyprogesterone acetate, norethisterone, norethisterone acetate, or dihydrogesterone) for 10-12 days in each cycle. After each course of gestagen therapy, menstrual-like bleeding occurs. In case of irregular and/or prolonged bleeding, the cause must be determined. Patients in the postmenopausal period may experience cycles lasting up to 3 months. Usually, the gel is applied once a day to clean skin on the lower anterior abdominal wall, as well as the waist area, shoulders, forearms, and/or alternately on the right and left buttocks, changing the application site daily, which should be the area of 1-2 palms. After applying the gel, it needs to dry (2-3 minutes). If the patient forgets to apply the preparation, they should do so as soon as possible, but no later than 12 hours after the scheduled application. If 12 hours have already passed, the use of Divigel should be postponed to another time. Irregular use of the preparation can cause menstrual-like bleeding from the uterus. Storage conditions: Store the preparation at a temperature not exceeding 50°C, out of reach of children. Shelf life: 3 years. Dispensing conditions: The preparation is dispensed by prescription only.
