What is it?
Divigel – Composition, Usage, and Storage Active Ingredient Estradiol hemihydrate Clinical-Pharmacological Group Estrogen Composition and Dosage Form Gel for external use: 28 sachets per pack 1 sachet: Estradiol hemihydrate 0.5 mg 1 sachet: Estradiol hemihydrate 1 mg Indications For hormone replacement therapy in cases of estrogen deficiency symptoms Treatment of climacteric syndrome associated with natural or artificial menopause (e.g., due to surgery) Dosage and Administration Divigel is used transdermally for cyclical, long-term treatment Initial dose: 1 mg estradiol per day (equivalent to 1 g gel) Dose adjustment is possible after 2–3 cycles individually, from 0.5–1.5 g gel (0.5–1.5 mg estradiol per day) Patients with an "intact" uterus are prescribed a gestagen (e.g., medroxyprogesterone acetate, norethisterone, norethisterone acetate, or dihydrogesterone) for 10–12 days in each cycle Menstruation-like bleeding occurs after completion of gestagen therapy Apply 1 time per day to clean skin: lower abdomen, lumbar region, shoulders, forearms, or right/left buttock, change application site daily (area of 1–2 palms) The gel needs 2–3 minutes to dry If application of the gel is delayed, it should be done as soon as possible, no later than 12 hours; if more than 12 hours have passed, postpone use Storage Conditions Store at a temperature ≤ 5 °C, out of reach of children Shelf Life 3 years Dispensing Conditions The preparation is dispensed by prescription only
