What is it?
Composition 1 ml of the preparation contains: Active substance: Dorzolamide (in the form of hydrochloride) 20 mg Excipients: Hydroxyethylcellulose, Mannitol, Citric acid monohydrate, Sodium hydroxide, Benzalkonium chloride, Purified water. Pharmacotherapeutic group Antiglaucoma agent. Carbonic anhydrase inhibitor. Indications for use - Increased intraocular pressure; - Open-angle glaucoma (including pseudoexfoliative glaucoma and other types of secondary open-angle glaucoma). Contraindications - Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation; - Severe renal insufficiency (creatinine clearance less than 30 ml/min). Method of administration and dosage For topical use only. Conjunctivally. As monotherapy, Dorzamed is prescribed - 1 drop in the affected eye 3 times a day. In combination with topical beta-blockers, the preparation is prescribed - 1 drop in the affected eye 2 times a day. When used concurrently with other topical ophthalmic agents, the interval between instillations should not exceed 10 minutes. When switching to Dorzamed, after instilling the usual daily dose of the previous preparation, its use is discontinued, and treatment with Dorzamed is started the next day. Special instructions Patients wearing soft contact lenses should remove the lenses before using Dorzamed, and they can be reinserted 15 minutes after drug instillation. The peculiarities of using Dorzamed in patients with severe liver dysfunction have not been established (use with caution). When used topically, dorzolamide is absorbed into the bloodstream. In this regard, adverse effects that develop may be analogous to reactions characteristic of sulfonamides.
