Droxidopa Ethylmethylhydroxypyridine succinate Composition: Active substance: Ethylmethylhydroxypyridine succinate 50mg; Excipients: Sodium metabisulfite (E 223), Water for injection. Indications: Acute disorders of cerebral circulation; Dyscirculatory encephalopathy; Vegetative dystonia syndrome; Mild cognitive disorders of atherosclerotic genesis; Anxiety disorders in neurotic and neurotic-like conditions; Relief of abstinence syndrome in alcoholism, with a predominance of neurotic-like and vegetative-vascular disorders; Acute intoxication with antipsychotic drugs; Acute purulent-inflammatory processes of the abdominal cavity (acute necrotic pancreatitis, peritonitis). Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to the active substance or any of the excipients. Acute disorders of liver and kidney function. Pregnancy and lactation. Children and adolescents. Dosage and administration: Dosage regimen: Intramuscularly or intravenously (bolus or drip infusion). For infusion, the drug should be diluted in isotonic sodium chloride solution. When administered as a bolus, Droxidopa should be injected slowly over 5-7 minutes, and by drip infusion at a rate of 40-60 drops per minute. The maximum daily dose should not exceed 1200mg. In acute disorders of cerebral circulation, Droxidopa is used intravenously by drip infusion at a dose of 200-500mg 2-4 times per day for the first 10-14 days, then intramuscularly at 200-250mg 2-3 times per day for 2 weeks. In dyscirculatory encephalopathy in the decompensation phase, Droxidopa should be administered intravenously by bolus or drip infusion at a dose of 200-500mg 1-2 times per day for 14 days. Then intramuscularly at 100-250mg per day for the next 2 weeks. For course prophylaxis of dyscirculatory encephalopathy, the drug is administered intramuscularly at a dose of 200-250mg twice a day for 10-14 days. In mild cognitive disorders in elderly patients and in anxiety disorders, the drug is used intramuscularly at 100-300mg per day for 14-30 days. In alcoholic abstinence syndrome, Droxidopa is administered at a dose of 200-500mg intravenously by drip infusion or intramuscularly 2-3 times per day for 5-7 days. In acute intoxication with antipsychotic drugs, the drug is administered intravenously at a dose of 200-500mg per day for 7-14 days. In acute purulent-inflammatory processes of the abdominal cavity (acute necrotic pancreatitis, peritonitis), the drug is prescribed for the first day, both preoperatively and postoperatively. The doses administered depend on the form and severity of the disease, the extent of the process, and the clinical course. The drug should be withdrawn gradually, only after a stable positive clinical and laboratory effect. In acute edematous (interstitial) pancreatitis - the drug is prescribed at 200-500mg 3 times a day, intravenously by drip infusion (in isotonic sodium chloride solution) and intramuscularly. Mild acute necrotic pancreatitis - 100-200mg 3 times a day, intravenously by drip infusion (in isotonic sodium chloride solution) and intramuscularly. Moderate severity - 200mg 3 times a day, intravenously by drip infusion (in isotonic sodium chloride solution). Severe course - pulse dose of 800mg on the first day, with a twice-daily administration regimen, then 200-500mg twice a day with a gradual reduction of the daily dose. Extremely severe course - initial dose of 800mg per day until stable relief of pancreatogenic shock manifestations, depending on the stability of the condition - 300-500mg twice a day intravenously by drip infusion (in isotonic sodium chloride solution), with a gradual reduction of the daily dose.
