What is it?
International Nonproprietary Name - Drotaverine Hydrochloride Indications: • Spasm of smooth muscles associated with diseases of the biliary tract: cholecystitis, cholangitis, pericholecystitis, cholecystolithiasis, cholangiolithiasis, papillitis. • Spasm of smooth muscles of the urinary system: nephrolithiasis, ureterolithiasis, pyelitis, cystitis, bladder tenesmus. • Spasm of smooth muscles of the gastrointestinal tract: in peptic ulcer disease of the stomach and duodenum, gastritis, enteritis, colitis, spastic colitis with constipation, and meteorism-accompanied forms of colitis. • Tension-type headaches: headaches caused by muscle tension, psychogenic, stress, daily headaches, transformed migraine; • In obstetrics and gynecology: painful menstruation, to reduce uterine tone during pregnancy, in case of threatened abortion. Method of administration and dosage: The preparation is administered subcutaneously, intramuscularly, or intravenously. Adults are prescribed 40-80 mg 1-3 times per day. For the relief of renal or hepatic colic, 40-80 mg is administered slowly intravenously. While administering No-Spa, the patient must lie down! During labor, 40 mg is administered intramuscularly to reduce the phase and dilate the cervix. If necessary, this dose can be repeated. Contraindications: • Hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation. • Severe hepatic, renal, or cardiac insufficiency.
