- Enalapril Normon 20 mg - active substance is enalapril maleate. - Other excipients are: sodium bicarbonate, lactose monohydrate, pregelatinized corn starch, magnesium stearate and iron oxide (E-172). Use: Enalapril Normon belongs to the group of so-called angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACE inhibitors). Enalapril is used: • For the treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension); • For the treatment of symptomatic heart failure; • For the prevention of symptomatic heart failure. Dosage: The medication should always be taken exactly as prescribed by the doctor or pharmacist. If the patient is unsure, they should consult a doctor or pharmacist. Use in children and adolescents: Experience with the use of enalapril in children with high blood pressure is limited. Tablets can be divided into equal doses. Hypertension: The recommended starting dose for most patients is 5 - 20 mg once daily. Some patients may require a lower starting dose. The recommended maintenance dose is 20 mg once daily. Heart failure: The recommended starting dose is 2.5 mg once daily. The doctor may gradually increase the dose until the optimal dose for the patient is reached.
