What is it?
Composition: 1ml syrup contains: Active substance: Desloratadine 0.5mg; Excipients: Propylene glycol, liquid sorbitol, citric acid, sodium citrate dihydrate, disodium edetate, sodium benzoate, sucrose, flavoring (#15864), yellow coloring #6 (E110), purified water. Indication: For the relief of symptoms of allergic rhinitis (inflammation of the nasal passages caused by allergies, e.g., hay fever or dust mite allergy) in adults, adolescents, and children from 1 year of age. These symptoms include sneezing, itching and runny nose, itchy palate, itchy and red eyes, watery eyes. For the relief of symptoms associated with urticaria (skin condition caused by allergies). These symptoms include itching and rash. Aerius relieves these symptoms throughout the day, helping to restore normal activity and sleep. Method of administration and dosage: Take orally, independently of food intake. Children: 1-5 years old - 2.5ml syrup (1.25mg desloratadine) once daily; 6-11 years old - 5ml syrup (2.5mg desloratadine) once daily. Adults and adolescents (12 years or older): 10ml syrup (5mg desloratadine) once daily. Therapy for intermittent allergic rhinitis (symptoms less than 4 days per week or for less than 4 weeks) should be based on patient history: discontinue as soon as symptoms disappear and resume upon their reappearance. For persistent allergic rhinitis (symptoms more than 4 days per week and for more than 4 weeks), treatment should be continued for the entire duration of exposure to the allergen. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation or to loratadine. Pregnancy and lactation: Safety of use in pregnant women has not been established, therefore it is not recommended during pregnancy. Desloratadine passes into breast milk, so women who are breastfeeding should not be prescribed Aerius. Storage: Store at a temperature not exceeding 30C, out of reach of children.
