What is it?
Composition: 5 ml of syrup contains: Active substance: Desloratadine 2.5 mg. Excipients: Sodium methylparahydroxybenzoate, Sodium propylparahydroxybenzoate, Propylene glycol, Citric acid monohydrate, Sucrose, Flavor "Orange", Sunset Yellow FCF, Glycerin, Purified water. Pharmacotherapeutic group: Antihistamines for systemic use. H1-histamine receptor blocker. Indications: Allergic rhinitis (to relieve or alleviate sneezing, nasal discharge, nasal congestion and itching, tearing, eye itching and redness, palate itching); Chronic idiopathic urticaria (reduction and relief of skin itching or rash). Dosage and administration: Esnotin is intended for oral administration, independently of food, with a small amount of water. In children aged 1 to 5 years, 1.25 mg (2.5 ml of syrup) is prescribed once daily. In children aged 6 to 11 years, 2.5 mg (5 ml of syrup) once daily. In adults and adolescents over 12 years of age, 5 mg (10 ml of syrup) once daily. A measuring cup, which is included in the packaging, is used for syrup dosing. The course of treatment and duration of administration are determined by the nature of the disease. When treating seasonal pollinosis, the drug is discontinued after the disappearance of symptoms. When treating perennial allergic rhinitis, the drug is used continuously throughout the period of patient contact with the allergen. Side effects: In children under 2 years of age, the most common adverse reactions were diarrhea, fever, insomnia. In adults, the most common adverse reactions were fatigue, dry mouth, headache. Possible side effects also include: hallucinations. Dizziness, drowsiness, insomnia, psychomotor hyperactivity, convulsions. Tachycardia, palpitations; QT interval prolongation. Arrhythmia, bradycardia. Abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, dyspepsia, diarrhea. Increased levels of liver enzymes and bilirubin, hepatitis; jaundice. Photosensitivity. Muscle pain. Hypersensitivity reactions (anaphylaxis, angioedema, dyspnea, itching, rash, urticaria); asthenia. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to loratadine, desloratadine or any of the excipients of the preparation; fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption or sucrase-isomaltase deficiency; age up to 1 year. Pregnancy and lactation: The use of the preparation during pregnancy and lactation is not recommended. Driving and operating machinery: Very rarely, drowsiness may occur, which may affect the ability to drive vehicles and operate other machinery. Overdose: Symptoms: Intensification of side reactions. Treatment: Gastric lavage followed by administration of activated charcoal, if necessary - symptomatic therapy. Hemodialysis is ineffective. The effectiveness of peritoneal dialysis has not been established. Appearance and packaging: Orange syrup with a sweet taste. Syrup in a 60 ml yellow glass bottle with a screw cap equipped with a safety system. 1 bottle together with a measuring cup and instructions for use is placed in a cardboard box.
