What is it?
Composition: The active substance is simethicone. 1 ml oral emulsion contains 100 mg simethicone. Excipients: Macrogol stearate, glyceryl monostearate 40-55, sorbic acid, sodium hydroxide for pH adjustment, potassium acesulfame, sodium chloride, sorbitol solution (non-crystallizing, E 420), carbomers, sodium citrate, banana flavoring, purified water. Pharmacotherapeutic group: Drugs for functional gastrointestinal disorders, other drugs for functional gastrointestinal disorders. Indications: For symptomatic treatment of complaints related to the gastrointestinal tract caused by gas formation, such as intestinal gas accumulation, abdominal bloating, colic in newborns or increased gas formation after surgery; for preparation of abdominal organs for diagnostic procedures, e.g., radiography, ultrasound, endoscopic examination, as well as an additive to contrast agent suspensions. Dosage and administration: Espumisan Baby should always be taken in strict accordance with the instructions in this leaflet. There are two methods for determining the dose of Espumisan Baby: depending on the dose, it can be determined: with a pipette graduated in milliliters (ml) with a measuring cap. The dosage of Espumisan Baby is determined by the severity of the symptoms. The following doses are generally used: Up to 1 year, single dose - 5-10 drops - added to the baby's bottle at each feeding or given with a small spoon directly before breastfeeding. 1-6 years: 10 drops 3-5 times a day. 6-14 years: 10-20 drops 3-5 times a day. Adolescents: 20 drops 3-5 times a day. In addition, Espumisan Baby can be taken after surgery. Espumisan Baby should be taken during or after meals, and if necessary, also before bedtime. Espumisan Baby should be taken until symptoms disappear. Espumisan Baby can be taken for a prolonged period only on the recommendation of a doctor. For preparation for diagnostic procedures: 1 day before the procedure - 1 ml 3 times a day after meals, on the day of the procedure - 1 ml. As an additive to contrast agent suspensions: 2-4 ml per 1 liter of contrast agent suspension for double contrast imaging. For preparation for endoscopic examination of the stomach and small intestine: 2-3 ml before the endoscopy. If necessary, if the procedure is hindered by foam bubbles, they can be eliminated by introducing a few milliliters of emulsion into the instrument channel of the endoscope during the procedure. The bottle should be shaken well before use. Using the pipette: The bottle is held vertically upside down. 25 drops correspond to 1 ml of emulsion. Using the measuring cap: The measuring cap is a dosing device with graduation lines in milliliters. It is attached to the screw cap of the 30 ml and 50 ml dropper bottles. If necessary, it can be removed and used to measure the dose instead of the pipette. Contraindications: Allergy to the active substance simethicone or any other component of the preparation. Storage conditions: The preparation should be stored at a temperature not exceeding 25C, out of reach of children. Do not freeze! Shelf life: 36 months. Espumisan Baby can be used for 6 months after opening the bottle.
