Properties

What is it?

Composition of the medicinal form Active substance: Estriol - 0.5mg; Excipient: Hard fat. Dosage form: Cylindrical suppositories, white or white with a yellowish tinge. The presence of air or funnel-shaped depressions is allowed on the cut. Indications Hormone replacement therapy: Atrophy of the mucous membrane of the lower urinary and genital tract associated with estrogen deficiency. Pre- and postoperative treatment in postmenopausal women undergoing or planned for surgery with vaginal access. For diagnostic purposes in cases of unclear vaginal smear results against the background of atrophic changes. Contraindications Hypersensitivity, diagnosed (including in history) or suspected breast cancer, estrogen-dependent malignant neoplasms or suspicion thereof (e.g., endometrial cancer), undiagnosed genital bleeding, untreated endometrial hyperplasia, thrombosis (venous and arterial) and thromboembolism currently or in history (including deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, myocardial infarction, stroke), cerebrovascular disorders, conditions predisposing to thrombosis (including transient ischemic attacks, angina) currently or in history). Multiple or pronounced risk factors for venous or arterial thrombosis (including complicated heart valve lesions, atrial fibrillation, diseases of the cerebral or coronary arteries; uncontrolled arterial hypertension, serious surgical intervention with prolonged immobilization, smoking over 35 years of age); confirmed thrombophilia, congenital or acquired factors predisposing to venous or arterial thrombosis, such as: resistance to activated protein C, antithrombin III deficiency, protein C deficiency, protein S deficiency, presence of antiphospholipid antibodies and other deep vein thrombosis, including in history: pronounced hypertriglyceridemia, cholestatic jaundice; otosclerosis (including during previous pregnancy or treatment with sex hormones); acute liver diseases or liver diseases in history, until liver function indicators return to normal, porphyria, pregnancy, lactation. Children The preparation is not prescribed for children under 18 years of age. Pregnancy and lactation The preparation is contraindicated during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Method of administration and dosage Intravaginally, before bedtime. For atrophy of the mucous membrane of the lower urogenital tract, 1 suppository (0.5mg) is prescribed daily for the first 2-3 weeks, then the dose is gradually reduced depending on the symptoms, to 1 suppository (0.5mg) twice a week. Pre- and postoperative therapy in postmenopausal women - 1 suppository (0.5mg) for 2 weeks. Before or after surgery. As a diagnostic agent - 1 suppository every other day for a week, until the next smear is taken. If the next dose of the preparation is missed, it should be taken immediately. However, if this is discovered only on the day of the next dose, the preparation should be continued according to the usual schedule without making up for the previous dose. Two doses cannot be taken on the same day. Storage conditions Store in a dry place, protected from light, at a temperature not exceeding 25˚С. Do not freeze. Keep out of reach of children.
