What is it?
Indications Ventricular and supraventricular extrasystoles Ventricular and supraventricular tachycardia (non-paroxysmal and paroxysmal) Paroxysms of atrial fibrillation After myocardial infarction complicated by cardiac rhythm disturbances Dosage regimen Etacizine is prescribed at an initial dose of 500 mg 3 times a day. Its use is not associated with food intake. If the effect is insufficient, the dose of the preparation is increased (under ECG control) to 50 mg 4 times a day (200 mg per day), or 100 mg 3 times a day (300 mg). A stable antiarrhythmic effect develops on the second to third day of oral administration. The duration of treatment depends on the form of arrhythmia, the effectiveness of the preparation, and its tolerability. Side effects Cardiovascular system: AV block, intraventricular conduction disturbances, right bundle branch block, decreased myocardial contractility, decreased coronary blood flow. Arrhythmogenic effect develops rarely. CNS: dizziness, accommodation disturbances. Gastrointestinal tract: nausea. Contraindications Hypersensitivity to the preparation and its components Cardiac conduction disturbances: sinoatrial block of II degree, atrioventricular block (AV) of II and III degree, severe intraventricular conduction disturbances Arterial hypotension Severe forms of heart failure Liver and kidney dysfunction Pregnancy and lactation When prescribing the preparation during pregnancy or lactation, the potential benefit to the mother and the expected risk to the fetus should be considered. Therefore, its prescription during these periods is carried out only after determining their ratio. Alcohol consumption is not allowed during treatment with Etacizine
