What is it?
Protofer Drops 30 ml Iron is one of the most important trace elements in the human body, participating in crucial immunobiological processes such as DNA replication, redox reactions, blood formation, and respiration. Therefore, during development, its deficiency affects erythropoiesis, neuronal development, and the normal functioning of the heart, skeletal muscles, and gastrointestinal tract. Premature newborns have a high demand for nutrients. Iron-deficiency anemia is most common in them, due to the rapid increase in the demand for bioavailable iron. In adulthood, iron deficiency is most common, caused by inadequate nutrition. This affects approximately 30% of the population. In elderly and weakened individuals, iron deficiency is caused by insufficient iron intake or poor absorption. During pregnancy and breastfeeding, the demand for iron increases, which is essential for placental growth and oxygen supply to the mother and baby. Iron is necessary for the production of erythrocytes and maintaining oxygen levels. Iron deficiency during pregnancy causes anemia, called gestational iron-deficiency anemia.
