Properties

What is it?

Combined preparation Clinical-pharmacological group: Hematology → Anti-anemic preparations → Iron preparations Composition: Iron gluconate 360 mg Folic acid 350 mcg Vitamin B12 3 mcg Vitamin C 60 mg Iron gluconate Unlike inorganic salts, iron gluconate is better absorbed by the body. It contains divalent iron (Fe2+). Enterocytes have the ability to bind (Fe2+) ions, and their absorption becomes more active the more pronounced the iron deficiency in the body. Iron gluconate is characterized by a low ionization constant (the lower the ionization constant, the higher its absorption capacity). It does not precipitate proteins, does not disrupt the proteolytic activity of the digestive system, and does not cause vomiting, stomach spasms, constipation, or diarrhea in most patients. The dissociation product of iron gluconate is gluconic acid, which is a weak acid by nature and has little effect on pH. Folic acid Folic acid actively participates in the regulation of the functions of blood-forming organs, exerting an anti-anemic effect in macrocytic anemia. It also positively affects liver and intestinal functions, increases choline content in the liver, and prevents fatty infiltration of the liver. Folic acid ensures the maintenance of normal immune system function. It promotes the normal formation and function of white blood cells. Folic acid plays an important role during pregnancy. It regulates the formation of embryonic nerve cells, which is especially important for the normal development of the fetus. Vitamin B12 Vitamin B12 plays an important role in the functioning of blood-forming organs: it participates in the synthesis of purine and pyrimidine bases and nucleic acids, which are essential for erythropoiesis. It actively affects the accumulation of compounds containing sulfhydryl groups in erythrocytes. Vitamin B12 also participates in transmethylation and hydrogen transfer processes, activating methionine synthesis. It enhances protein synthesis and accumulation in the body, thus exerting an anabolic effect. Vitamin C Vitamin C participates in metabolic processes; it is not produced in the human body and is obtained only through food. Vitamin C participates in the regulation of oxidation-reduction processes, carbohydrate metabolism, blood clotting, and tissue regeneration processes; it increases the body's resistance to infections. It reduces vascular permeability. It participates in the metabolism of iron, folic acid, histamine, carbohydrate utilization, synthesis of lipids, proteins, carnitine, and immune processes. Vitamin C has anti-aggregatory and pronounced antioxidant properties. In food, iron exists in the form of Fe3+ ions. Ascorbic acid in the acidic environment of the stomach reduces Fe3+ to Fe2+ and forms a stable compound that is resistant to the acidic environment and is absorbed by the intestinal epithelium. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity, hemolytic anemia, hemosiderosis, hemochromatosis, aplastic anemia, pregnancy first trimester, children under 8 years of age.
