International Nonproprietary Name - Colecalciferol Product Name: Finevit D3 60 K (Vitamin D3 Orally Disintegrating Tablets 60000 IU) Composition: Each orally disintegrating tablet contains: Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol) USP 60000 IU (Vitamin Supplement) Pharmacodynamics/Pharmacokinetics: Pharmacodynamic Properties: Pharmacotherapeutic Group: Vitamin Supplement Indications: Treatment of Vitamin D deficiency or insufficiency, refractory rickets (vitamin D-resistant rickets), hereditary hypophosphatemia and hypoparathyroidism, management of hypocalcemia and renal osteodystrophy in patients with chronic renal failure on dialysis. Also used in combination with calcium for the management and prevention of primary or corticosteroid-induced osteoporosis. Recommended Dosage: Adult Dose: One tablet/week for 8 weeks, followed by a maintenance dose of one tablet/month for 6 months. Or as advised by your doctor on the number of tablets and frequency. Method of Administration: Place the orally disintegrating tablet on the tongue, allow it to dissolve, and then swallow. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to the active substance Hypervitaminosis D Nephrolithiasis Nephrocalcinosis Diseases or conditions caused by hypercalcemia and/or hypercalciuria (e.g., myeloma, bone metastases or other malignant bone disease, primary hyperparathyroidism) Severe renal failure Side Effects: Frequency of adverse reactions is defined as: Uncommon (≥1/1,000 to <1/100), Rare (≥1/10,000 to <1/1,000), Unknown (cannot be estimated from available data).
