What is it?
International Nonproprietary Name - carbocysteine lysine salt Clinical-pharmacological group: Pulmonology → Mucolytics and antitussives → Mucolytics and expectorants Composition Each 100ml of syrup contains: Active substance: carbocysteine lysine monohydrate 9 mg. Excipients: natural cherry flavoring, methylparaben, caramel flavoring, sucrose, and purified water. Indications - Fluifort is a mucoregulator with mucolytic and expectorant effects. Fluifort is effective for both hypo- and hyperviscous mucus and phlegm. - Fluifort is indicated for the treatment of complications of acute and chronic obstructive diseases of the upper and lower respiratory tract and acute bronchitis. - Fluifort is also indicated for the treatment of ENT diseases: pharyngitis, tonsillitis, laryngitis, rhinitis, rhinopharyngitis, otitis, and sinusitis. Dosage and Administration For adults: 30ml once or 15ml twice daily. For children: Children aged 1 to 5 years: 2.5 ml twice daily. Children over 5 years: 5 ml twice daily. Administration of the preparation in children should be under medical supervision. The dosage may be increased (three times daily) in both children and adults as prescribed by a doctor. Contraindicated in newborns and children under 1 year of age. Side Effects Clinical studies have shown that patients tolerate Fluifort well. Gastrointestinal disorders are rarely observed, e.g., diarrhea, nausea, gastralgia, dizziness, and drowsiness. In extremely rare cases, skin rash and itching may occur. These symptoms disappear after dose reduction. Contraindications Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation and in cases of acute duodenal or gastric ulcer disease. Pregnancy and Lactation Although the preparation has neither teratogenic nor mutagenic effects and its content in breast milk has not been established, its use during pregnancy and lactation is not recommended. Special Instructions For patients with diabetes mellitus or on a low-calorie diet, it should be taken into account that the preparation contains sucrose. Overdose In case of Fluifort overdose, symptomatic treatment is prescribed (gastric lavage and activated charcoal). There is no specific antidote.
