Properties

What is it?

International Nonproprietary Name - fosfolipids The active substance of the preparation is fosfomycin (DOE) (calcium). Each 5 ml of reconstituted suspension contains 250 mg of fosfomycin (calcium). Excipients: sucrose palmitate, guar gum, banana essence powder, colloidal silicon dioxide anhydrous, and fructose. Fosfocin suspension is presented as a powder for preparing an oral suspension, available in packaging for preparing 60 ml or 120 ml of suspension. Fosfomycin is a broad-spectrum bactericidal antibiotic. Fosfomycin is indicated for oral administration in the treatment of mild urinary tract infections, gastrointestinal tract infections, and dermatological infections caused by microorganisms sensitive to this antibiotic. Recommended dosage is: Adults: 2 spoons of 5 ml suspension (500 mg fosfomycin) or 4 spoons of 5 ml (1 g fosfomycin), every 8 hours. Children over 1 year old: 1 spoon of 5 ml suspension (250 mg fosfomycin) or 2 spoons of 5 ml (500 mg fosfomycin), every 8 hours. Premature and newborn infants: 1 spoon of 3 ml suspension (150 mg fosfomycin) or 2 spoons of 3 ml (300 mg fosfomycin), every 8 hours. Instructions for correct administration of the preparation To prepare the suspension, invert the bottle to ensure no powder remains stuck to the bottom. Add a small amount of water and shake. Fill with water up to the indicated mark. In the appropriate box, note the date of preparation of the suspension. Consider the shelf life of the suspension after opening (15 days at room temperature). Always shake before use. For correct dosing, use the 3 ml and 5 ml spoons provided with the packaging. Possible side effects Like all other preparations, Fosfocin suspension may cause side effects. Oral administration of fosfomycin may cause loose stools or diarrhea. In some cases, skin rash, vomiting, dyspepsia, loss of appetite, difficulty breathing, visual disturbances, and headaches have been observed. In hypersensitive patients, redness and swelling of the skin may occur, which, in cases of increased hypersensitivity, may lead to anaphylactic shock. If the above-described or any other side reaction not indicated in these instructions occurs, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
