Properties

What is it?

Composition: Each vaginal suppository contains: Active substances: Metronidazole 500 mg, Miconazole nitrate 100mg. Excipient: Vitеpsol. Pharmacotherapeutic group: Combined antibacterial, antiprotozoal and antifungal preparation for local use. Indications for use: Vulvovaginal candidiasis caused by C. Albicans. Bacterial vaginosis caused by Gardnerella vaginalis and anaerobic bacteria. Trichomonal vaginitis caused by Trichomonas vaginalis. Vaginitis caused by mixed infections. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to the active substances and their derivatives, and other components of the preparation; First trimester of pregnancy; Porphyria; Epilepsy; Severe liver dysfunction. Use during pregnancy and lactation: Pregnancy: After the first trimester of pregnancy, Gynotran® vaginal suppositories are prescribed under medical supervision if treatment is urgently needed. Lactation: Breastfeeding should be discontinued during treatment due to the transfer of metronidazole into breast milk. Breastfeeding can be resumed 24-48 hours after completion of treatment. Method of administration and dosage: Do not use without a doctor's prescription. If no other method of use is prescribed by the doctor, insert one vaginal suppository deeply into the vagina in the evening for 14 days, or one vaginal suppository in the morning and evening for 7 days. For recurrent vaginitis and vaginitis resistant to other treatments, Gynotran® one vaginal suppository is prescribed in the morning and evening for 14 days. Before using vaginal suppositories, wash and dry your hands. Assume a horizontal position with your lower limbs slightly elevated. Insert the suppository deeply into the vagina. Try to remain in a lying position for half an hour. After using the suppository, wash your hands again. Elderly patients over 65 years of age: The same recommendations apply as for adults. Children: Not prescribed for children. Not used in virgins. Cannot be swallowed or taken by other means
