What is it?
Combined medication Clinical-pharmacological group: Pulmonology → Mucolytics and antitussives → Mucolytics and expectorants Trade name: Herbion® Primula Syrup International Nonproprietary Name: Dosage form: Syrup. Composition: Each 5 ml (1 measuring spoon) of syrup contains: Active substances: Liquid aqueous extract of primula (Primula veris L. and/or Primula elator (L.) Hill) root and garden thyme (Thymus vulgaris L. and/or Thymus zygis L.) herb mixture 3.08 g (equivalent to 0.22 g - 0.51 g of primula root and 0.62 g of garden thyme herb). Excipients: Levomenthol, Methylparahydroxybenzoate (8.75g), Sucrose (3.16g). Description: Brown syrup with a characteristic smell and taste. Minor sediment typical for plant-derived substances is permissible. Pharmacotherapeutic group: Expectorant and mucolytic herbal remedy. Indications Herbion Primula Syrup is a herbal medicinal product recommended to facilitate sputum expectoration in the following cases: - Respiratory inflammatory diseases (bronchitis, pharyngitis) accompanied by difficult expectoration of thick bronchial secretions; - Cold and flu diseases accompanied by cough. Dosage and administration Adults and children over 16 years of age should take 2 measuring spoons of syrup 3-4 times a day. Children aged 4 to 10 years – 1 measuring spoon of syrup 3 times a day. Children aged 10 to 16 years – 1-2 measuring spoons of syrup 3 times a day. During syrup treatment, it is recommended to consume sufficient amounts of fluids and warm drinks. There is no experience with the use of the preparation in children under 4 years of age. Contraindications Hypersensitivity to active or excipient substances. The syrup is not recommended for gastritis and stomach ulcers. Interaction with other medicinal products There is no data on the effect of the preparation on other medicinal products. There are no reports on the effect of food on the action of the preparation. Use during pregnancy and lactation Since there is no data on the safety of the preparation during pregnancy and lactation, it is not recommended for pregnant and breastfeeding mothers.
