What is it?
Composition: Active ingredient is clindamycin phosphate. Each suppository contains 119 mg of clindamycin phosphate, equivalent to 100 mg of clindamycin. Excipients: hard fat. Pharmacotherapeutic group: Anti-infective and antiseptic gynecological agents, antibiotics. Indications: Bacterial vaginosis. Dosage and administration: The recommended dose is one suppository intravaginally at bedtime for three or seven days. If symptoms persist after discontinuation of therapy, consult a doctor. Instructions: Remove the suppository from the PVC strip, the patient should lie on their back with knees drawn up to the chest. The ovule should be inserted into the vagina with the tip of the third finger as deeply as possible without causing discomfort. Side effects: Local irritation, vaginal candidiasis. Vaginal discharge, abdominal cramps, menstrual irregularities, nausea, diarrhea, itching, rash, pain at the application site, infection. In case of side effects, consult the treating physician. Contraindications: Yenlip is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to clindamycin, lincomycin, or this hard fat. Interactions with other drugs: There is no information on the concomitant use of other vaginal medications with Yenlip. Inform your doctor about any medications you are taking, have taken, or plan to take. Special precautions: Before or after starting therapy with Yenlip, other infections including Trichomonas vaginalis, Candida albicans, Chlamydia trachomatis or Neisseria gonorrhoae should be investigated with adequate laboratory tests. The use of clindamycin may lead to the growth of resistant organisms, particularly yeasts. Symptoms indicating pseudomembranous colitis may develop during or after antimicrobial treatment. It is recommended to refrain from sexual intercourse during therapy. The use of latex condoms and diaphragms is contraindicated as their effectiveness may be reduced. The use of other vaginal products (such as tampons or caps) during treatment with Yenlip is not recommended. Studies on the safety and efficacy of Yenlip have not been conducted in the following populations: pregnant or breastfeeding women. Patients with impaired liver function, patients with immunodeficiency, patients with colitis, patients under 16 years of age or over 65 years of age, patients with impaired renal function. If the patient forgets to take one or more doses of Yenlip, treatment should be continued with the regular dose. Do not take a double dose to compensate for a missed dose. Pregnancy and lactation: The use of the drug is not recommended in pregnant and breastfeeding women. Driving and operating machinery: There is no data on the effects of clindamycin on driving and operating machinery. Overdose: Overdose of clindamycin vaginal use has not been described. Accidental oral intake may cause effects comparable to therapeutic concentrations of orally administered clindamycin. In case of overdose, consult the treating physician. Appearance and packaging: Clindamycin suppositories are semi-solid, white in color. The product comes in PVC strips. Each box contains one strip and instructions for use. One strip along with instructions for use is packed in a cardboard box. Each box contains 7 suppositories. Storage conditions: Keep out of reach of children. Not exceeding 25C. Expiration date: Indicated on the packaging. Pharmacy dispensing conditions: Over-the-counter.
