What is it?
Composition: INOFOLIC HP is a food supplement containing myo-inositol, alpha-lactalbumin, and folic acid, useful in cases of reduced intake of these nutrients from the diet or increased body requirements. Indications: Myo-inositol is a molecule produced by our body and also present in some foods. Its physiological role is to ensure the body's response to various hormones, such as insulin and FSH (follicle-stimulating hormone). Insulin is a hormone that regulates sugar metabolism, while FSH promotes follicle growth until ovulation. Impaired function of both these hormones occurs in women with PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome), and various clinical studies have shown that continuous supplementation with myo-inositol can be beneficial for normalizing the metabolic and hormonal profile of these women. What is the physiological role of alpha-lactalbumin? Alpha-lactalbumin is a whey protein that improves the absorption of myo-inositol in the intestines. This is important in "myo-inositol-resistant" subjects, where myo-inositol supplementation alone has not been effective. Clinical data have shown that approximately 35% of women with PCOS have problems with myo-inositol absorption. The causes may be related to gastrointestinal tract diseases, changes in microbiota, and chronic inflammation, problems that affect 40% of women with PCOS. The combination of alpha-lactalbumin and myo-inositol allows for the normalization of metabolic and hormonal profiles in women with PCOS who do not respond to myo-inositol supplementation alone. What is the physiological role of folic acid? Folic acid is a water-soluble B vitamin. It is involved in DNA, RNA, and protein synthesis, cell division, and chromosome repair. It also contributes to the normal growth of maternal tissues during pregnancy. Its deficiency can lead to intrafollicular homocysteine with a consequent reduction in oocyte quality. Furthermore, scientific studies have shown that folic acid deficiency is often associated with fetal growth and neural tube defects. Supplementation with folic acid increases folate levels in the maternal body. How to take INOFOLIC HP: It is recommended to take one sachet twice a day, some time after meals. To ensure a constant ratio of inositol, it is necessary to take the two sachets 12 hours apart. The contents should be dissolved in a glass of water. Warning: Keep out of reach of children.
