What is it?
Apidra is a clear, colorless solution for injection containing insulin glulisine. Insulin glulisine is produced by recombinant DNA technology using E. coli. Insulin glulisine has a rapid onset and short duration of action. Apidra is an antidiabetic agent used in patients with diabetes to lower blood sugar levels. Diabetes is a condition in which the body does not produce enough insulin. Never use Apidra if: * Your blood sugar level is low (hypoglycemia). Follow the advice in the instructions for hypoglycemia. * You are allergic to insulin glulisine or any of the other ingredients in Apidra. Pregnancy and breastfeeding: Consult your doctor before taking any medication. How to use Apidra Apidra should be taken 0-15 minutes before or immediately after a meal. Your doctor will determine the dose of Apidra you need, based on your lifestyle, blood glucose test results, and previous insulin use. Before opening: Store in the refrigerator (between 2°C and 8°C). Store the half-used pen in its outer carton to protect it from light. Do not freeze. Do not place the "SoloStar" in the refrigerator's freezer compartment or allow it to touch the freezer compartment. Before use, store a new pen at room temperature for 1-2 hours. During use: If a pen is removed from the refrigerator for use, it can be stored for up to 4 weeks. During this time, it should be stored at a temperature not exceeding 25°C, protected from light, and should not be refrigerated. Do not use after this period. Dispensing: By prescription
