Properties

What is it?

Composition: The active substance is insulin glargine. 1ml of solution contains 100 units of the active substance – insulin glargine. Other components include: zinc chloride, metacresol, glycerol, sodium hydroxide, hydrochloric acid, and water for injection. Indication: Lantus is a clear and colorless injection solution containing insulin glargine. Insulin glargine is a modified insulin that is fully equivalent to human insulin. It is produced by recombinant DNA technology in E. coli. Insulin glargine reduces long-term and regular hyperglycemia. Lantus is used to lower blood sugar levels in people with diabetes mellitus, where the body cannot produce enough insulin to control blood sugar levels. Contraindication: Hypersensitivity to insulin glargine or any other component of Lantus. Pregnancy and lactation: Before taking any medication, the patient should consult a doctor. Method of use: The doctor will determine the dosage based on the patient's lifestyle, blood sugar (glycemia) analysis, and the results of previously administered insulin. Storage conditions: Keep out of reach of children. Do not use Lantus after the expiry date indicated on the box or vial. The expiry date is the last day of the indicated month. Before use: Store in the refrigerator (at a temperature of 2°C to 8°C). Store the half-filled pen with the outer carton in a place protected from light. Do not freeze. Do not place in or near the refrigerator's freezer compartment. Before first use of a new pen, let it stand at room temperature for 1-2 hours. During use: If the pen has been removed from the refrigerator for use or transport as a backup, it can be stored for up to 4 weeks. During this period, it should be stored at a temperature not exceeding 25°C, protected from light, and should not be placed in the refrigerator. Do not use it after this period has expired. Dispensing rule: By prescription.
