International Nonproprietary Name - ethinylestradiol+drospirenone+levomefolate Film-coated tablets Each pink tablet contains: Drospirenone 3 mg Ethinylestradiol (in the form of betadex clathrate) 0.02 mg Calcium levomefolate (calcium salt of levomefolic acid) 0.451 mg Each light orange tablet contains: Calcium levomefolate 0.451 mg Yaz Plus is intended for the prevention of pregnancy, treatment of moderate acne and premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) in girls aged 14 and above who have reached puberty; the preparation is also used as a folic acid salt (folate) supplement in women who use oral contraceptives. Always take the medication according to the instructions given by your doctor. If you have any doubts or uncertainties, consult your doctor, not a pharmacist. Therapeutic group: Yaz Plus belongs to the group of oral contraceptives. Yaz Plus contains 2 types of female hormones: synthetic estrogen (ethinylestradiol) and progestin (drospirenone), as well as calcium levomefolate, which belongs to group B vitamins (folic acid salt/folate). For women of reproductive age, it is recommended to take 0.4 mg (400 mcg) of folic acid daily to reduce the risk of pregnancies with rare fetal defects (neural tube defects) that manifest during the perinatal period. The amount of folate in Yaz Plus tablets is a dietary supplement and reduces the risk of such pregnancies during and for a short period after discontinuation of the preparation. The dose of the medication and the treatment regimen are determined and established solely by a doctor. Generally, the usual dose is one tablet per day, at a specified time, for 28 days. It is important to take Yaz Plus every day, at the same time, according to the instructions on the packaging; preferably after the evening meal or before bedtime, if necessary, with water. You can also take Yaz Plus without regard to food. Take the first pink tablet from the pack on the Sunday after your period begins, even if you are still bleeding. If your period begins on a Sunday, start taking the tablets on the same day. For better protection, use an additional contraceptive method (such as a condom and spermicide) if you have sexual intercourse from Sunday to the following Sunday (7 days) after starting the tablets. This also applies if you start taking Yaz Plus after pregnancy and have not yet had your period.
