What is it?
Active Ingredient: Cabergoline Clinical-Pharmacological Group: Hormonal agent (prolactin secretion inhibitor) Indications: Physiological postpartum lactation cessation or artificial suppression of lactation: at the mother's request, or when breastfeeding is contraindicated for both mother and fetus. Stillbirth or abortion. Treatment of dysfunction caused by hyperprolactinemia (in women - amenorrhea, oligomenorrhea, anovulation, galactorrhea, infertility; in men - impotence, decreased libido). Treatment of pituitary prolactin-secreting adenomas (with micro- and macoprolactinemia). Idiopathic hyperprolactinemia or "empty" sella syndrome, which is the underlying pathological condition associated with hyperprolactinemia. Dosage Regimen: For suppression of postpartum lactation, 1 mg (2 tablets of 0.5 mg) is prescribed once on the first day after childbirth. For suppression of established lactation - 0.25 mg (1/2 tablet) twice a day every 12 hours for 2 days (total dose 1 mg), with this dosage, side effects (especially arterial hypotension) are less common. For the treatment of hyperprolactinemia, the drug is prescribed 1-2 times a week (e.g., on Monday or Monday and Thursday). The initial dose is 1/2 tablet (0.25 mg) or 1 tablet (0.5 mg) per week. Depending on the therapeutic effect, the dose can be increased if necessary. The weekly dose increase is gradual (0.5 mg at 1-month intervals). The average therapeutic dose is 1 mg per week and can range from 0.25 mg to 2 mg per week. In patients with hyperprolactinemia, up to 4.5 mg per week is used. The drug should be taken with meals. Contraindications: * Hypersensitivity and allergic reactions to cabergoline and ergot alkaloids. * Severely impaired liver function. * Toxemia of pregnancy. * History of postpartum psychosis. * Age under 16 years. Pregnancy and Lactation: * It is not recommended to use the drug during pregnancy and breastfeeding. * When selecting an effective dose, regular (once a month) monitoring of prolactin levels in the blood is recommended. Normalization is observed after 2-4 weeks of treatment. * With prolonged intake of the drug, regular gynecological examinations are necessary, including histological examination of the cervix and endometrium. Storage Conditions: Store the preparation at a temperature not exceeding 25C.
