What is it?
Composition One tablet contains: Active ingredients: Calcium carbonate 1250 mg (equivalent to 500 mg elemental calcium), Cholecalciferol 11.0 mcg (400 IU Vitamin D3) as 4.40 mg cholecalciferol concentrate*. Indications for use - Treatment and prevention of calcium and vitamin D deficiency. - As an addition to complex therapy for osteoporosis in patients at risk of calcium and vitamin D deficiency. Dosage and administration Adults and elderly: One tablet twice daily. Tablets can be chewed or dissolved. Contraindications - Hypersensitivity to the active or excipient components of the preparation. - Severe renal insufficiency (glomerular filtration rate <30 ml/min/1.73 m2). - Disease and/or condition leading to hypercalcemia and/or hypercalciuria. - Urolithiasis (nephrolithiasis). - Vitamin D hypervitaminosis. - Children under 18 years of age. Pregnancy and lactation Pregnancy Calcium-D3 Nycomed Forte can be used during pregnancy in case of calcium and vitamin D deficiency. The daily dose during pregnancy should not exceed 2500 mg of calcium and 4000 IU of vitamin D. However, excessive intake of calcium and vitamin D should be avoided in pregnant women, as persistent hypercalcemia has an adverse effect on the developing fetus. Vitamin D in therapeutic doses does not have teratogenic effects. Lactation Calcium-D3 Nycomed Forte can be taken during breastfeeding. Vitamin D3 and calcium pass into breast milk. This should be taken into account if additional vitamin D is prescribed for the infant. Storage conditions Store in a tightly closed bottle at a temperature not exceeding 30°C, in a dry place.
