Properties
What is it?
Canardi 20 mg/5 mg/ml Ophthalmic Solution For ophthalmic use. Active substance: Each ml contains 22.26 mg of dorzolamide hydrochloride equivalent to 20 mg of dorzolamide and 6.83 mg of timolol maleate equivalent to 5 mg of timolol as active substances. Use Canardi contains dorzolamide hydrochloride and timolol maleate as active substances. - Dorzolamide belongs to a group of medicines called "carbonic anhydrase inhibitors". - Timolol belongs to a group of medicines called "beta-blockers". Canardi is prescribed to reduce elevated intraocular pressure in the treatment of glaucoma when beta-blocker eye drops alone are insufficient. Xolati is a clear and colorless solution. The 5 ml of eye drops are presented in an opaque, white, low-density polyethylene bottle with a dropper and a yellow screw cap. Always use Canardi exactly as your doctor has told you. If you are not sure, you should consult your doctor or pharmacist. The appropriate dose and duration of treatment will be determined by your doctor. Dosage: The recommended dose is one drop in the affected eye(s) in the morning and in the evening. If you are using Canardi with another eye drop, the drops should be instilled at intervals of at least 10 minutes. Do not change the dose of the preparation without consulting your doctor. Do not allow the tip of the container to touch the eye or the areas around the eye. It may become contaminated with bacteria, which can cause eye infections and consequently serious eye damage, even vision loss. To avoid contaminating the bottle, avoid touching the tip to any surface. If you think your preparation may be contaminated, or if an eye infection develops, consult your doctor immediately about continuing to use this bottle. Method and route of administration Instill the eye drops as follows: • Open the bottle cap (see Figure 2). • Remove the ring under the cap (see Figure 3 and Figure 4). • Gently pull down the lower eyelid of the affected eye with your finger. • Bring the tip of the dropper close to the eye, but do not touch it. • Gently squeeze the dropper and instill only one drop into the eye. Then release the lower eyelid. • Press the corner of the eye near the nose with your finger for about one minute with your eyes closed. This will prevent Canardi from draining from the tear duct. • If your doctor has told you to use the medicine in both eyes, repeat the same procedures in the other eye. • Close the bottle with the cap. The dropper is designed to release one drop at a time. Do not try to enlarge the dropper. Storage Keep Canardi out of reach of children and store in its original packaging. Store below 25C, protected from light. Canardi should be used within 28 days of opening, provided it is stored below 25C.
