Properties

What is it?

Composition 1 g of Capsicam® ointment contains 50 mg of dimethyl sulfoxide, 30 mg of racemic camphor, 30 mg of turpentine oil, 20 mg of benzyl nicotinate, and 2 mg of nonivamide. Other components: emulsifying cetostearyl alcohol (Type A), sodium cetyl stearyl sulfate, polysorbate 80, bronopol, and purified water. Indications The preparation is used as a pain-relieving and warming agent for joint and muscle pain. Caution: Capsicam® ointment should not be applied to damaged skin. To avoid severe irritation, it should not come into contact with mucous membranes or eyes. Before use, it is recommended to apply a small amount of ointment to the skin to determine sensitivity. Dosage and Administration For warming effect in athletes: 2-3 grams of Capsicam® ointment is applied via applicator and rubbed into the muscular area until slight redness of the skin. After exercise, the ointment should be washed off with cool water. For pain relief: Apply 1-3g of ointment to the painful area 2-3 times a day (depending on pain intensity), after which it is bandaged to enhance the warming effect. During the course of treatment, it is recommended to use 1-2 tubes (50-100 g) of ointment. After each procedure, it is recommended to wash hands with soap and lukewarm water. If symptoms persist, consult a doctor. Side Effects In case of hypersensitivity to any component of Capsicam® ointment, itching, swelling, and urticaria are expected. In this case, its use should be discontinued and the ointment washed off the skin. These signs disappear 8-12 hours after discontinuation of the preparation. To avoid side effects, before use, it is recommended to apply a small amount of ointment to the skin to determine sensitivity. If side effects occur, consult a doctor. Contraindications Capsicam® ointment is not used for skin diseases, damage to the integrity of the skin, and hypersensitivity to any of its components. If you have any of the above symptoms, be sure to inform your doctor! Pregnancy and Lactation During pregnancy and lactation, it is not used due to the lack of clinical data on the safety of the preparation. Inform your doctor about pregnancy and breastfeeding! Overdose Applying a large dose of ointment may cause skin redness, mild transient itching, or a burning sensation. If the ointment is accidentally swallowed, consult a doctor. Bring the product packaging with you. Interactions with other drugs None. Storage Conditions and Expiration Dates Capsicam® ointment should be stored at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Do not store in the refrigerator or freezer. Keep out of reach of children. Expiration date: 2 years. The expiration date is indicated on the packaging. The preparation must not be used after the expiration date indicated on the packaging.
