Properties

What is it?

Each gram of gel contains 25 mg of ketoprofen. Excipients: Carbomer, trolamine, lavender essential oil, ethanol, purified water. Indications: Ketonal gel is used topically to relieve the following conditions: - To relieve pain in muscles and joints and reduce swelling caused by sports and other injuries (sprains, strains, tendon ruptures, various injuries). - To relieve muscle pain caused by excessive physical exertion. - For lower back pain and inflammation, as well as in degenerative rheumatic diseases of the joints. For additional information, the patient should consult a doctor. Dosage and administration: For external use only. Adults and children over 15 years of age: Apply the gel to the painful area 1-2 times a day and rub gently into the skin. The dose depends on the area of the painful region. 5 cm of gel corresponds to 100 mg of ketoprofen. 10 cm of gel corresponds to 200 mg of ketoprofen. Do not apply the gel to mucous membranes, the anal area, genitals, or the skin around the eyes. Care should be taken to avoid getting the gel into the eyes. It is not recommended to wear tight clothing during treatment. Hands must be washed after each application of the gel. Ketonal gel can be used in combination with other pharmaceutical forms of Ketonal (capsules, tablets, suppositories). The maximum daily dose, regardless of the pharmaceutical form used, is 200 mg of ketoprofen. Contraindications: - In case of allergy to ketoprofen or any other component of this preparation. - If the patient has or has had asthma, urticaria (itchy rash), or allergic-type reactions caused by ketoprofen or other similar active substances, such as other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or salicylates (e.g., acetylsalicylic acid). - In case of acute gastric or duodenal ulcer. - Damaged or altered skin, e.g., eczema (itchy, red, burning rash), impetigo, various dermatoses (skin lesions), open wounds, or infectious lesions. - Wearing tight clothing during treatment. - Simultaneous application of other topical agents to the same area. - During the last trimester of pregnancy. - In patients under 15 years of age. Pregnancy: Consult a doctor before taking any medication. Storage conditions and shelf life: Keep out of reach of children. Store at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. The tube should be kept tightly closed. The expiry date is indicated on the packaging. Dispensing from pharmacy: Available without a prescription.
