What is it?
Composition: Each tablet contains 10mg Loratadine; Excipients: Lactose Monohydrate, Magnesium Stearate, Corn Starch. Indications: Claritin is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of allergic rhinitis and chronic idiopathic urticaria in adults and children weighing over 30kg. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients. Method of administration and dosage: Method of administration: For oral use, i.e. per os. The tablet can be taken independently of food intake. Dosage: Adults and children over 12 years of age: 10mg (1 tablet) once daily. Children: Children aged 2-12 years: Dosage depends on weight. For body weight over 30kg: 10mg (1 tablet) once daily. For body weight 30kg or less: 10mg tablets are not intended for children weighing less than 30kg. Other dosage forms of the preparation are available for use in children aged 2 to 12 years with a body weight of less than 30kg. The efficacy and safety of Claritin in children under 2 years of age have not been studied and no data are available. Patients with liver dysfunction: In patients with severe liver dysfunction, the drug should be administered at a lower initial dose, as the clearance of loratadine may be reduced. For adults and children weighing over 30kg, the recommended initial dose is 10mg every other day. Patients with kidney dysfunction: Dose adjustment is not necessary in patients with kidney dysfunction. Elderly patients: Dose adjustment is not necessary in elderly patients. In case of a missed dose, the missed dose should be taken as soon as possible, then the usual dosing schedule should be resumed. Do not take a double dose to compensate for a missed dose
