What is it?
International Nonproprietary Name - Metronidazolum+Miconazolum Pharmacological group: Topical antifungal agents Composition: One capsule contains: Metronidazole - 500 mg, Miconazole Nitrate - 100 mg. Excipients: Polysorbate 80, Beeswax, Sunflower Oil. Gelatin capsule shell composition: Gelatin, Glycerin, Methylparahydroxybenzoate, Propylparahydroxybenzoate, Purified Water, Titanium Dioxide, Sunset Yellow E-110 dye. Pharmacotherapeutic group: Antiseptic agents and antimicrobial drugs for the treatment of gynecological diseases. Combinations of imidazole derivatives. Indications for use Kliofort is used for the local treatment of vaginal infectious diseases caused by Trichomonas and/or Candida: - Bacterial vaginosis - Trichomoniasis - Candidal vaginitis - Mixed vaginal infections. Method of administration and dosage Kliofort is used intravaginally and inserted deep into the vagina. For trichomoniasis, 1 vaginal capsule is prescribed once daily in the evening, before bedtime, for 10 days, in combination with oral metronidazole. For bacterial vaginosis, 1 vaginal capsule is prescribed 1-2 times daily for 10 days, if necessary, in combination with oral metronidazole. For candidal vulvovaginitis, 1 vaginal capsule is inserted deep into the vagina once daily for 10 days. In case of recurrent vaginitis or vaginitis resistant to other treatments, 1 vaginal capsule is prescribed at night and 1 vaginal capsule in the morning for 14 days. Children: Not recommended. Patients with renal/hepatic insufficiency: Renal insufficiency: The half-life of metronidazole does not change. Dose reduction is not necessary. In severe cases requiring hemodialysis, dose adjustment is necessary. In acute hepatic insufficiency, metronidazole clearance may be impaired. In case of high levels of metronidazole in blood plasma, symptoms of encephalopathy may be exacerbated, therefore metronidazole should be used with caution in patients with hepatic insufficiency. In hepatic encephalopathy, the daily dose of the drug should be reduced by 1/3. Side effects Local: Rarely - irritation of the vaginal mucosa and hypersensitivity reactions. Systemic effects are expected: Gastrointestinal tract: Nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, spasmodic pain in the lower abdomen, diarrhea, coating on the tongue, bitter, metallic taste in the mouth. Hematopoietic system: Reversible neutropenia (leukopenia). CNS: Peripheral neuropathy (loss of sensation in the extremities), rarely and only with prolonged treatment, headache, convulsions, drowsiness, dizziness, impaired coordination, ataxia, confusion. Contraindications - Hepatic and/or renal insufficiency - Impaired coordination of movements - Organic CNS disorders (including epilepsy) - First trimester of pregnancy, lactation period - Intolerance to nitroimidazole derivatives - Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.
