What is it?

Pharmacotherapeutic group: Corticosteroid for topical use Composition: Cream 0.1%: 30 g tube 1 g - Mometasone furoate 1 mg The preparation contains titanium dioxide as a coloring agent. Ointment 0.1%: 30 g tube 1 g - Mometasone furoate 1 mg Pharmacological properties: Mometasone furoate is a corticosteroid with anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, vasoconstrictive, and antipsoriatic properties. Corticosteroids are steroid hormones secreted by the adrenal cortex and their synthetic analogues. In pharmacological doses, they are used for their anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive effects. Due to their anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and vasoconstrictive properties, topically applied corticosteroids are effective in corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses. Indications: - Eczema - Psoriasis - Atopic dermatitis - Seborrheic dermatitis - Contact dermatitis - Lichen simplex chronicus - Lichen planus - Pruritic dermatoses - Insect bites - Burns Dosage: For external use only. Apply a thin layer of Ametasone to the affected skin areas once daily. Do not use occlusive dressings with the medication unless directed by a physician. It should not be applied to diaper areas if the child still requires diapers or plastic pants, as these constitute occlusive dressings. Side effects: New studies have shown that there are no side effects if an occlusive dressing is not used. However, as with other topical corticosteroids, prolonged use in large quantities or over large areas may result in sufficient absorption to cause side effects. Topical application of corticosteroids may cause burning sensation, irritation, dryness, skin atrophy, striae, and folliculitis at the application site. Contraindications: Contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation. Pregnancy and lactation: Pregnancy Category C There are no adequate and well-controlled studies on the teratogenic effects of topically applied corticosteroids in pregnant women. Therefore, topical corticosteroids should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus. It is unknown whether systemic absorption following topical use of corticosteroids is sufficient to be present in detectable amounts in breast milk. Since many drugs are excreted in breast milk, caution should be exercised when used in nursing mothers. Storage conditions: Store the preparation at a temperature not exceeding 30°C, out of reach of children.
