What is it?

Composition: Amoxicillin/Clavulanic acid 200 mg/28 mg powder for oral suspension 400 mg/57 mg powder for oral suspension Therapeutic indications: Co-Clav should be used in accordance with local official guidelines on antibiotic use and susceptibility data. Co-Clav suspension (228 mg/5 ml and 457 mg/5 ml) is indicated for the short-term treatment of the following infectious and inflammatory diseases, when caused by amoxicillin-resistant beta-lactamase producing strains. Otherwise, only amoxicillin should be used. • Upper respiratory tract infections (including ENT infections), such as recurrent tonsillitis, sinusitis, otitis media. • Lower respiratory tract infections, such as acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis, lobar pneumonia, and bronchopneumonia. • Urinary tract infections, such as cystitis, urethritis, pyelonephritis. • Skin and soft tissue infections, such as cellulitis, animal bites. • Dental infections, including dentoalveolar abscess. Susceptibility to the preparation may vary with time and geographical region. Local susceptibility must be determined. If necessary, microbiological samples should be collected and tested for bacteriological susceptibility. Microorganisms susceptible to the preparation are listed in section "Pharmacological Properties" - Microbiological Activity of the instructions. (See section 5.1). Mixed infections caused by amoxicillin-susceptible organisms and beta-lactamase producing organisms susceptible to Co-Clav can be treated with Co-Clav suspension (228 mg/5 ml and 457 mg/5 ml). These infections do not require the addition of another antibiotic resistant to beta-lactamase. Dosage and administration Dosage depends on the severity of the infection, as well as the patient's age, weight, and renal function. Store out of reach of children, in the original packaging. Store in a dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Prepared suspension should be stored at 2-8°C in the refrigerator and used within 7-10 days. Do not freeze.
