What is it?
Cordiamin 250 mg/ml Oral Drops Nikethamide Composition: 1 ml solution contains Active substance: 250 mg Nikethamide Excipients: Purified water Indications: Stimulant of the nervous system that stimulates blood circulation and respiration. Contraindications: Epilepsy, porphyria, serious heart disease, obstructive pulmonary disease, cerebral edema, stroke, severe hypertension, angina pectoris, individual hypersensitivity; in cases of poisoning with substances causing convulsions; in case of overdose of narcotic analgesics - convulsions may develop. Due to insufficient safety data, Cordiamin is not recommended for children under 12 years of age. Interactions with other drugs: The stimulant effect of Cordiamin is reduced when used with para-aminosalicylic acid, saluzid, aminazine, and other phenothiazine derivatives. Convulsions may develop when aminazine and reserpine are used with Cordiamin. MAO inhibitors (phenelzine and isocarboxazid) increase the hypertensive effect of Cordiamin; reduce the effect of central nervous system depressants. Cordiamin is inactivated in the presence of acidic and basic compounds. Pregnancy and lactation: Nikethamide is not recommended during pregnancy and lactation. Dosage and administration: To be taken as prescribed by a doctor. Oral preparation. Not recommended for children under 12 years of age. For adolescents over 12 years of age, adults, and elderly patients, take 20-30 drops 2-3 times a day. For adult patients, the maximum single dose is 60 drops (2 ml), the maximum daily dose is 180 drops (6 ml). Side effects: Allergic reactions are rarely observed. Driving and operating machinery: Nikethamide does not affect the ability to drive or operate machinery. Overdose: In case of overdose, a burning sensation, itching, feeling of heat, nausea, vomiting, changes in respiratory rate and depth, arrhythmia, tachycardia, arterial hypertension are observed. Toxic doses can cause convulsive seizures. Diazepam and other anticonvulsants are used to relieve symptoms. Precautions: The preparation is not intended for long-term treatment. It should be noted that Cordiamin is considered a stimulant of doping substances. Storage: Store in a place inaccessible to children, at a temperature below 25C.
