What is it?
CURIOZIN GEL, due to the pharmacological properties of its active ingredient - zinc hyaluronate, is effectively used for the treatment of acne. In addition to the two main factors involved in the pathogenesis of acne (sebaceous gland hyperplasia and follicular duct hyperkeratinization), biologically active substances produced and released by Propionibacterium acnes also play a significant role in the development of acne. As a result of the aforementioned pathological changes, the concentration of hyaluronic acid in tissues decreases and the balance is disrupted. Local application of CURIOZIN GEL compensates for the increased demand for hyaluronic acid in tissues. Hyaluronic acid is a natural mucopolysaccharide-type polymer, an important element for the construction of extracellular matrix. Due to its high hydrophilicity, it forms a dispersion matrix with water molecules; it plays an important role in the formation of skin tone and elasticity. The preparation has an anti-inflammatory effect. The combination of hyaluronic acid with zinc enhances the effectiveness of the preparation. Zinc suppresses lipase activity caused by Propionibacterium acnes, thereby interrupting the pathological process that contributes to the disease; it restores disturbed epidermal metabolism. The preparation also has an antibacterial effect. CURIOZIN GEL acts on both comedone formation and inflammatory elements. During treatment with the preparation, pustules and papules resolve, erythema and papular manifestations decrease. Active ingredient 15 g CURIOZIN GEL contains 15.40 mg of zinc hyaluronate. Excipients: potassium sorbate, sodium hydroxide, carbomer. Indications The preparation is used for the treatment of mild to moderate acne, primarily for the local treatment of comedonal and papulopustular acne. Contraindications Hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation. Dosage After thorough cleansing of the affected area, a thin layer of gel is applied to the skin surface 2 times a day. The preparation is absorbed within a few minutes after application. Occlusive dressing is not required. Side effects At the beginning of treatment, a burning sensation and skin redness are expected. In case of dry skin, a feeling of tightness may occur. Interaction with other medicinal products Not known.
