What is it?

Levofloxacin Eye Drops Composition: Each ml contains Active: Levofloxacin hydrochloride 5 mg Inactive: Sodium hydroxide, hydrochloric acid, sodium chloride, water for injection Indications and Usage: Levofloxacin eye drops are indicated for the treatment of bacterial conjunctivitis caused by susceptible strains of the following organisms: Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, Pneumococcus, Micrococcus, Bacillus, Corynebacterium species, Pseudomonas, Stenotrophomonas (Xanthomonas) maltophilia, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Haemophilus (Haemophilus influenzae, Haemophilus aegyptius (Koch-Weeks), Moraxella, Serratia, Klebsiella, Proteus, Morganella morganii, Acinetobacter, Enterobacter and Acnes. Indications: Blepharitis, Hordeolum, Dacryocystitis, Conjunctivitis, Tarsadenitis, Keratitis, Keratohelcosis, Postoperative infections and Trachoma Dosage and Administration: Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist. Levofloxacin eye drops are intended for ophthalmic use and should be applied to the external surface of the eye. For patients 1 year of age and older, the following dosage is recommended: Days 1-2 Instill one to two drops into the affected eye(s) every two hours. Use a maximum of 8 times per day. Days 3-5 Instill one to two drops into the affected eye(s) every two hours. Use a maximum of 4 times per day. No dosage adjustment is required in elderly patients. The usual total course of treatment is five days. Your doctor will advise you on how long to use the drops. If you are using any other eye medication, there should be an interval of at least 15 minutes between the use of different types of drops. Use in children and adolescents No dosage adjustment is required in children and adolescents 1 year of age and older. The use of Levofloxacin eye drops is not recommended in children under 1 year of age. Before using the drops: If possible, ask someone else to administer the drops for you. Ask them to read these instructions with you before using the drops. Levofloxacin eye drops should not be injected into the interior of the eyeball. Storage: Store in a tightly closed container, at room temperature (15-25C) and protected from light.
