Pharmacological properties Lorinden A is a combined topical preparation containing a glucocorticosteroid with anti-inflammatory, antiallergic, and antiexudative properties. Salicylic acid softens the skin and enhances the penetration of the glucocorticosteroid into hyperkeratotic epidermis, while also causing tissue maceration and having a weakly expressed disinfectant effect. Indications Chronic skin diseases resistant to other steroid treatments, especially those with severe or improper keratinization, such as: - Eczema caused by lichen - Prurigo with limited hardening and roughness of the skin - Psoriasis - Psoriasis of the hairy part of the skin - Erythroderma, lichen planus, and lichen verrucosus. Dosage and administration The preparation is used topically. Its method and frequency of use are determined by a doctor. A small amount of ointment is rubbed into the affected skin areas 1-2 times a day. After improvement, the preparation can be reapplied 1-2 times a day, only after 3-4 days. The preparation can also be used in the form of an occlusive dressing. The preparation is not allowed to be used for more than 2 weeks. Side effects Various reactions of contact eczema, symptoms of allergy, especially in patients with allergic diseases. Exacerbation of existing vulgar or rosacea acne and perioral dermatitis. Post-steroid acne, skin atrophy and striae, skin burning, itching, skin irritation are also possible. Sometimes dryness of the skin with depigmentation may occur. If the mentioned side effects occur, immediate consultation with a doctor is necessary. Contraindications Skin infections with purulent complications, viral and mycotic skin diseases, skin tuberculosis, skin changes caused by syphilis, chickenpox, neoplasms and precancerous conditions, trophic ulcers of the lower leg with varicose veins, allergic reactions to corticosteroids or components of the ointment base. Pregnancy and lactation The use of the preparation during pregnancy and lactation is not recommended, especially on large areas of skin. Special instructions Due to the possibility of skin complications, prolonged use of the preparation on facial skin is not recommended. The preparation is used with particular caution in patients with open- and angle-closure glaucoma and cataracts. The preparation is prescribed with particular caution and for a short duration in children. Interactions with other drugs None observed.
