What is it?
Lugol's Solution RFF Composition Active substance: 1 g of solution contains 10 mg of iodine. Excipients: Potassium iodide, glycerol, distilled water. Usage: The disinfecting and antiseptic properties of Lugol's Solution are due to its iodine content, which has strong antibacterial, anti-spore, antifungal, and antiviral action. Lugol's Solution is intended for oral use. The preparation is used as an adjunct treatment for inflammation of the soft palate, tonsils, pharynx, and larynx. Method of administration: The preparation should be used externally, in the oral cavity, as described in these instructions or as directed by the treating physician. The patient should consult a doctor or pharmacist if they are unsure about the correct use of the preparation. The preparation is intended for external use on the oral mucosa. Elderly, adults, and adolescents from 12 years of age: For a single recommended dose, an iodine swab or cosmetic swab is dipped in Lugol's Solution and applied to the inflamed areas: soft palate, tonsil area, or pharynx. The procedure is repeated 2-4 times a day. If the condition does not improve or symptoms worsen within 14 days of starting treatment with the preparation, the patient should consult a doctor. Use in children and adolescents Not used in children under 12 years of age due to insufficient safety data. Storage conditions Store in its original packaging. Store at a temperature not exceeding 25C.
