The preparation is characterized by high efficacy and good taste. Maalox does not cause constipation. It is used as an adsorbent, coating, and antacid agent for increased stomach acid acidity. Maalox relieves pain in the upper gastrointestinal tract for several hours. Indications: Acute and chronic gastritis; Esophageal hernia; Gastric and duodenal ulcer disease; Gastric discomfort in case of dietary indiscretion, medication intake, abuse of coffee, nicotine, and alcoholic beverages. Dosage and Administration: - Maalox is mainly prescribed 1-1.5 hours after meals or in case of pain. - Take 1-2 tablets of Maalox. It is necessary to chew the tablet or keep it in the mouth until completely dissolved. - Maalox suspension is taken in a dose of 15-16 ml (1 tablespoon or 1 sachet). Shake the bottle before use or rub the sachet with your fingers to homogenize the suspension. Transfer the contents of the sachet to a spoon or directly into the mouth. For children from 4 months to 1 year: 1/2 teaspoon per dose; For children over 1 year: 1 teaspoon per dose. If necessary, an additional dose can be taken 2 hours after the previous dose, but not more than 6 doses per day. Side Effects: Associated with aluminum hydroxide: Prolonged use of high doses of Maalox may lead to a sharp decrease in phosphorus reserves in the body.
