What is it?
International Nonproprietary Name - nimesulide Clinical-pharmacological group: Anti-inflammatory agents → Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents → Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents for systemic use → Pyrazoline derivatives Indications: Nimesulide is prescribed for the treatment of pain and inflammation: Postoperative pain in case of fractures, sprains, trauma, strains; Joint and muscle diseases; Back pain; Inflammatory and degenerative arthritis; Ankylosing spondylitis; Osteoarthritis in the acute phase; During tooth extraction and in dental surgery; In gynecological surgery; Pain in cancer patients. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to nimesulide, peptic ulcer disease of the stomach and duodenum in the exacerbation phase, liver dysfunction. Warning: Like other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, nimesulide has a pronounced gastrotoxic effect. Therefore, nimesulide can cause quite serious side effects from the digestive system, such as bleeding, ulcer formation, gastric perforation, small or large intestinal perforation. These symptoms can occur at any time, including without prior events (symptoms). Nimesulide can cause upper gastrointestinal side effects, such as dyspepsia. Therefore, even in cases where the patient has no history of any symptoms from the digestive system, attention should be paid to the development of ulcerative disease and bleeding. The patient should also be warned about potential side effects. Dosage and method of administration: Tablet / sachet is taken orally as an antipyretic and analgesic. Adults: 1 tablet / sachet 2 times a day. Not used in children under 15 years of age. Side effects and warnings: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, skin rash, headache. A potentially dangerous side effect is liver and kidney dysfunction in newborns. Warning: Nimesulide is prescribed with caution in elderly patients and patients with impaired kidney function. The drug reduces the effect of beta-blockers and diuretics. Inform your doctor about the simultaneous administration of Nimuso and the above-mentioned drugs.
