What is it?

International Nonproprietary Name magnesium lactate, magnesium pidolate, pyridoxine Clinical-pharmacological group Metabolism disorders → Electrolyte balance agents → Magnesium supplements What is MagnéB6 and when is it used MagnéB6 is indicated for the treatment of symptoms of magnesium deficiency caused by treatment. Symptoms of magnesium deficiency Neurosis, irritability, anxiety, mild fatigue, minor sleep disturbances Cramps, tingling sensations Before taking MagnéB6 Contraindications If you are allergic to the active substance or any of the excipients In case of kidney disease If you are taking levodopa (MagnéB6 contains pyridoxine) Other warnings MagnéB6 contains sucrose If you have an intolerance to certain types of sugar, consult your doctor before taking the medication How to take MagnéB6 Always take the medicine as instructed or as directed by your doctor/pharmacist. If in doubt, consult your doctor or pharmacist. In case of severe magnesium deficiency or impaired absorption, intravenous administration is required first. Method of administration The medicine is taken orally Swallow the tablets with a glass of water Dosage Adults The daily dose is 6–8 tablets, taken 2–3 times during meals Children and adolescents (over 6 years of age, weight ≥20 kg) Daily dose of 10–30 mg/kg body weight (0.4–1.2 mmol/kg) Can be taken in 2–4 tablets per day, divided into 2–3 doses during meals Special populations Patients with kidney failure In case of moderate insufficiency, the dose is adjusted by determining magnesium levels in plasma In case of severe insufficiency, taking MagnéB6 is prohibited After normalization of magnesium levels in serum, treatment should be discontinued Duration of treatment Usually 1 month If symptoms persist, discuss the appropriateness of continuing treatment with your doctor Overdose Contact your doctor or pharmacist immediately Missed dose Do not take a double dose to compensate for a missed dose If you have any further questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist Possible side effects Like all medicines, this medicine may cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Skin reactions Rarely diarrhea, abdominal pain Very rarely allergic reactions Pregnancy and breastfeeding If you are pregnant, or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice During pregnancy, the medicine should only be used as prescribed by a doctor The decision to continue treatment during breastfeeding is made by the doctor Magnesium and vitamin B6 are individually compatible with breastfeeding During breastfeeding, it is recommended not to exceed 20 mg of vitamin B6 per day, i.e., a maximum of 4 tablets per day
