What is it?

International Nonproprietary Name - magnesium lactate, magnesium pidolate, pyridoxine Clinical-pharmacological group: Metabolic disorders → Electrolyte balance agents → Magnesium supplements What is Magné B6 and for what conditions is it used Magné B6 is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of magnesium deficiency. Magnesium deficiency can cause a number of symptoms or a combination thereof: - Neuroticism, irritability, anxiety, transient fatigue, mild sleep disturbances; - Cramps, tingling sensations. Before taking Magné B6 Do not take Magné B6 if: - You are allergic to the active substances or any of the other ingredients of the medicinal product (see section 6); - You have kidney disease; - You are taking levodopa (as Magné B6 contains pyridoxine). Magné B6 contains sucrose If your doctor has told you that you have an intolerance to some sugars, contact your doctor before taking this medicine. How to take Magné B6 Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If you are unsure, ask your doctor or pharmacist. In case of magnesium deficiency or impaired absorption, magnesium products are initially administered intravenously. How to take the medicine The medicine is taken orally. Swallow the tablets with a glass of water. Dosage The medicine is intended for adults and children over 6 years of age. For adults The daily dose is 6-8 tablets. It should be taken 2-3 times during meals. Taking the medicine in children and adolescents For children over 6 years of age and weighing more than 20 kg, the daily dose is 10-30 mg/kg body weight (0.4 to 1.2 mmol/kg body weight). You can take 2-4 tablets 2-3 times a day during meals. Special populations Patients with kidney failure In patients with moderate kidney failure, the dose may be adjusted by determining the magnesium content in plasma. In case of acute kidney failure, taking Magné B6 is contraindicated. When serum magnesium levels reach normal levels, treatment should be discontinued. The duration of treatment is usually 1 month. If symptoms reappear after one month of treatment, the appropriateness of continuing treatment should be reviewed. Overdose of Magné B6 Contact your doctor or pharmacist immediately. Missed dose of Magné B6 Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose. If you have any further questions about taking this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist. Possible side effects Like all medicines, this medicine may cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Skin reactions are observed, rarely - diarrhea, abdominal pain, very rarely - allergic reactions. Pregnancy and breastfeeding If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine. During pregnancy, the medicine can only be taken as prescribed by a doctor. If you become pregnant while taking the medicine, consult your doctor, who will decide whether to continue treatment. As discussed, each individual component, such as magnesium and vitamin B6, is compatible with breastfeeding. Since there is very limited data on the maximum recommended dose of vitamin B6 during breastfeeding, breastfeeding is recommended with a maximum intake of 20 mg of vitamin B6 per day, or a maximum of 4 tablets per day.
