What is it?
International Nonproprietary Name - Meldonium Composition Each ampoule contains: Active substance: Meldonium dihydrate – 500.0 mg; Excipient: Water for injection – up to 5 ml. Pharmacotherapeutic group Agents for the treatment of heart diseases. Indications Meldovin is used as part of combination therapy in the following cases: - Cardiovascular diseases: stable exertional angina, chronic heart failure (NYHA functional class I-III), cardiomyopathy, functional disorders of the cardiovascular system; - Acute and chronic cerebrovascular disorders; - Reduced working capacity, physical and psycho-emotional overexertion; - Recovery period after cerebrovascular disorders, head injuries and encephalitis. Dosage and administration Meldovin, solution for intravenous and intramuscular administration. Adults are prescribed 0.5-1.0 g per day intravenously, with the total dose administered at once or divided into 2 doses. The maximum daily dose is 1.0 g, or IM 500 mg 1-2 times per day, with a possible subsequent transition to oral administration of meldonium. Due to the possibility of developing an stimulating effect, Meldovin intake is recommended in the first half of the day. There are no special recommendations for use in elderly patients. Elderly patients with impaired liver and/or kidney function require lower doses. Patients with impaired liver and/or kidney function require lower doses. Use in children is contraindicated due to lack of data on efficacy and safety. The duration of treatment is determined by the doctor. Contraindications Hypersensitivity to meldonium. Increased intracranial pressure (in case of venous outflow disorders, intracranial tumors). Due to lack of data on safety of use: - Liver and kidney failure; - Pregnancy and lactation; - Childhood (up to 18 years).
